OUR PASTOR

Pastor Cleveland Perry Howell  is a native of New Castle, PA, where he resided until relocating to Buffalo, NY in 1969. He attended East High School and graduated in 1972.

In 1979, while in pursuit of a career in law enforcement, he and his late wife Leta moved to Youngstown, OH, where he was employed in the Private Investigations directly linked to the Youngstown Police Department.

Upon answering the call to ministry, he and his family returned to Buffalo to continue doing the work of the Lord.

In 1982, Pastor Howell joined Urban Christian Ministries (U.C.M.) where he served and retired after 29 years of service. Throughout his extensive volunteer hours with the ministry, he continued to hold a position in the field of Chemical Research for Pratt and Lambert Paints. He diligently served in both capacities until he retired. In 1995, he became the Assistant Executive Director of UCM, where he was responsible for all programs.

Under the leadership of Pastor William L. Feaster, Pastor Howell was appointed Assistant Pastor of Greater Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.  With the duties of being both Assistant Director and Assistant Pastor he also served as Director of Missions for District #3 Church of God in Christ (Trinity District), overseeing 10 churches under the districts jurisdiction.

After the Lord called his first wife home in 2000, while still attending Greater Faith Temple, in 2001, the Lord blessed him to be united with his lovely wife First Lady Brenda K. Howell.

Pastor Howell is the father of 3 wonderful children and a son and daughter through ministry.

Our First Lady

Born Brenda K. Tyler, Sister Tyler joined Greater Faith Temple in 1992 under the leadership of Pastor George Harris where she gave her life to the Lord in 1995.  While quietly waiting for clear direction from the Lord and with the encouragement of Mother Mary Ellen Feaster, Sister Tyler grew in the Lord and began to work in the ministry.

Starting as a Sunday school teacher for the primary class, she was promoted to teach the junior class, and then the senior class.  While faithfully operating in the area of teaching, she joined the Usher Board where she  served diligently.

In 1995, under the leadership of Pastor William L. Feaster, Sister Tyler was commissioned as an Aspiring Missionary.  After several years of Watch Care, Sister Tyler was ordained as a Licensed Missionary.

In 2001, Missionary Tyler met Elder Cleveland P. Howell and after a year-long engagement, they were united in Holy Matrimony on December 8, 2001.  Through this union, Lady Howell's ministry expanded outside the United State to the mission fields of Mexico.

Lady Howell is currently the President of the Women's Department.  She also serves over the Prayer Ministry and is co-facilitator of the Youth Department.  But her most valuable ministry is being the wife of a Pastor.

Through the merging of the two families, Pastor and Lady Howell have two sons: Cleveland A. Howell and Douglas P. Adams, and one daughter Denise Jennings.

Her desire is to be pleasing in the sight of the Lord and to serve Him with purpose.
